Hey Y'all. Finally got inspired to fire up the 8 track from strumming the acoustic last night. Got the bare bones of a new original with just a piano, and acoustic track called "new original"

Hey man.... welp... since my primary instrument is piano I'm already going to have bias in favor of it. When it first started I thought it "Let it Be" by Paul McCartney.. but then once it go rolling... it obviously wasn't. =o) ... It'll be interesting to hear what you put it... will the paino be the main instrument of the song?

What I'm thinking is that the chord patterns lend themselves to some big old over done production. I'll start out the same way, but add stuff on along the way so by the time it rolls around to the second chorus there'll be everything on there but the kitchen sink!

I like the sound of it, however its hard to discern which instrument is the dominant. I just naturally listen for something to be the floor or background for everything else to layer over. The piano and guitar seem to be in compitition for the limelight.

You're absolutely right about the mix. That acoustic won't be up front like that in the final product.

That is interesting. I would have guessed the guitar to have been prominant.
I look foreward to hearing a different mix.
