Evidently, they take issue with ppl looking for bands & stuff in the forums. I think they want us to stick to the search & brouse features since so many of us list email addies & such in here that could bypass their premium memberships' features.

I can understand it, but yeah, it kinda sucks.

I just tried to reply to an email from a guy, which is supposedly allowed for a free membership, but it wouldn't go through. It just kept referring me to upgrade. Now that kinda ticked me, but whatchagonna do?

Guess I'll be forced to upgrade or look like one of those unresponsive ppl, which I most definitely am NOT!

******* *****

They charge to send messages back and forth to find people on this site. If you use the forum to find people, you are circumventing the process and their fee(s).

If you still don't get it, I can draw you a picture if you have a crayon.

The forum is not the best place to look for a local band or musician anywho.

Hey Capt. There's no reason to be rude. The fact that one can't contact other members unless they pay a fee isn't obvious. Nor is it standard practice among sites of this nature. In fact, it seems alarmingly close to deceptive. So it should come as no surprise that people are shocked when they find out.

Thats why you use Craigslist to find musicians...Bandmix is just good for talking and getting/giving advice

Maybe they should put that statement at the top of the page.

Actually Bandmix is an excellent site for finding musicians. Three of our four band members are currently Bandmixers, and I have a list of a number of other Bandmixers who are capable of filling in for us when needed (like next Saturday Aug.23). I have used Craig's List in the past and had a lot of response, but in my opinion the higher quality response comes from Bandmix. Later...

Why, I came here to find you. I just didn't know it at the time.

Rick,

If you read what was to be read when you created your account, you might have seen the UPGRADE MEMBERSHIP tab.

Now what did you think that was for? lol
