You may be going through some allergies. I developed some as I got around your age. (I'm 53)
Cut an onion in 1/2, end to end (not crosswise like onion rings), & boil it in about 2 cups water until it turns transluscent. Toss the onion, add some honey & drink it warm. Sounds terrible, but it ain't that bad & it does help. Use local honey to help overcome those allergies, naturally.
Or you can try ClearVoice. I think you can get it at most music stores. Just a spray & it helps.
Warm ups before you sing help, too.
Nice tunes, btw. At least you ain't screaming & ruining it all to heck.

green tea and hunny.
thing i use for death metal growling is cherry coke.
cherry coke seems to work THE BEST out of every crazy thing i have heard. It'll even increase the time you can sustain your normal range.

The consensus on carbonated beverages is that they are BAD for your voice. They dry out the vocal cords.
Perhaps if you just used the syrup, that would work. Ppl used to use Coke syrup for throat pain & laryngitis all the time. It's probably similar to ClearVoice, lol.
ClearVoice, btw, is kinda expensive, but worth it to have when you're on stage & having vox prob's.

Try to stay away from caffiene, carbonated stuff, alcohol, weed, cigs, & smoke machines too. These are all things that dry out the vocal cords, & will hurt you in the end, if you're having vox troubles, & we all do occasionally.
I worked with a nutty guy that really liked to use that frikken smoke machine. I HATED that damned thing! Smoke always seemed to find me, no matter where I moved on stage, & my voice would just shut down like I was on the verge of coughing. (I've heard that smoke follows beauty, but this definitely counters that old wive's tale!) After I nearly barfed one night, I finally got him to stop using it. (I coughed up a big loogey & it hung off the mic for an entire song - ew GROSS!)
The pro opera singers often put lil bags of salt water in their costumes, & they sip it during their performances through hidden straws, to help the voice. You might think that salt would dry them out, too, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Just SIP tiny amounts, though, do not drink it! Icky stuff happens to your belly if you drink it.
You could try gargling with salt water at practices.

I'd love to see a doc that uses those technical terms like "icky" LOL
Hey, I smoke like a chimney...but I've been singing for a looooooooooooong time...longer than I'd like to admit, & I've learned a few tricks that can help.
Oh...stay away from dairy products, too. They cause phlemination, which can mess with your sinuses, too, if you do have allergies.
Good luck with your voice. It'll prolly get better in a few weeks, when there's different pollen in the air.

Citrus...Biting into a lemon slice is a natural cure. Don't drink pop, or eat anything too sweet, and take it easy on the singing.

I almost NEVER drink any alcohol, but during some gigs I need a rum and coke to clear my voice. Actually because I'm a blues singer my voice gets better as it gets hoarser. If I feel it's too hoarse I'll get a rum and coke, seems to work. People find it hard to believe I don't drink but it's true. I'm NOT into alcohol and NEVER EVER do drugs. Also the Ricola cough drops can work sometimes as well. Good luck...

F this noise.
Never drink or drug BEFORE the show. Makes for a bad outing, sloppy at very least.

Lemon wedges will crack your teeth. The citric acid destroys enamel rapidly. Rinse good before and after citric. Sip of jose works good.
But I agree with the Captn on this one. Not before or during a show.
Bob seems to have a grip on it, so if it works for him, thats cool.
I see the effects of smoke on the voice and body daily. Yet still enjoy a cigar now and again (mostly now

)
