The idea for this tune came from a post on Bandmix general chat forum,
It's not suited for the metal fans but some baby boomer hopefully might relate to it a bit.
I'm open to suggestions I have my Rolaids close by.

Although I had a hard time discerning the lyrics. I liked it. Nice guitar work. Good lead riffage without too many notes makeing it too busy.

Hey I like thrash metal, classic metal and more, but I like some Soul n Blues. Don't stereotype meh =P
Nice lead.. quality, but I can barely hear the vocals. It's a rule that deeper voices have to be projected louder in order to fit. Overall, enjoyed it

Hey fretwork,
I like the concept musically..DONT like the time sig. :lol...I hear the drums and bass in half time 2/4 or 2/2...This time sig puts too much space between vocal lines..OR How bout theSD on the +'s of 1 ,2 and 4
BD would be syncopated on the 16's (e and a) inbetween 3+4..Yeah , just too longated IMO..Have a rhythm gtr pt following the SD..OR just stayin on the +'s

Thanks guys for the comments, sorry for the low vocals, the last tune I posted the comments were the vocals were too loud, I guess I over compensate on this one, maybe I should post just Instrumentals.
Andragon didn't mean to stereotype but thanks for the chuckle, I like your posts with humor and witty comments.
KIDD wish I were your neighbor man, I'd be knocking daily on your door to tap your musical mind, you sure know your music, time signature never entered my mind when I was making up this tune maybe I should have after reading your observations.
Hey Sansouheil I've read your lyrics of the song up to collaboration, you'd make a good neighbor to have as well, I struggle to come up with lyrics. I'll be interested seeing what Kramer will do with it.

I like the "spooky" under tone.

Thanks fret, If you have time feel free to give the lyrics a shot as well.
It was not intended to be exclusive. Would really be interesting to see how close or different others melodies would be for the same set of lyrics.
I an eager to see what Kramer comes up with.

Hey Fretwork,
Just got back in town..Yeah , the time sig change is a matter of opinion...The tune started out with a southern rock feel (kinda like the breeze) THEN , kinda went disco..
Yeah , I mean, what your doing "works"...Just wouldnt be MY choice..I hear it more in cut time or at least the top end providing a cut time feel...Yeah , what I described was kind of a mix of both.ORRR, more of a top end UPBEAT feel like "I shot the Sheriff"..I syncopate the DOG SQUEEZE outta that one (so did claptons drummer live)

Yeah , mess with it ..Change up some riffage on the guitars..See if ya can busy it up between vocal phrasings (too lagatto)..Your hittin whole and half notes and just lettin them ring.....Like I say, its creative consultantry..(opinion)

fretwork, sorry it's taken so long for me to listen to this, but I like to take the time to really listen, & that time is at a premium lately.
I could hear some of the words, but the roller coaster thing goes well with the almost calliope sounding keys. I thought it felt a little awkward at 1st, but I was wrong. It's a nice squeaky wheel/rusty springs kinda start up. When the guitar comes in, it ties it together perfectly. I like that kinda thing, cuz it surprizes me.
Yeah, it's kinda bluesy, kinda reggae, yet rockish, too, with a little spooky undertone, as blunder pointed out. Your voice reminds me of Widespread Panic.
When you get the drums worked out, & rerecord it, let us know. It sounds like it could be a very good tune. Coulda maybe used a little cajun in the drums, just to offset the reggae feel?
The end could have been much stronger than the radio fade. That's a tool I use very very rarely, if at all. I'd try to find a way to get it stopped, if it was mine, but that's just a personal preference.

Thanks guys
Hey KIDD glad you're back, say I know you didn't like the synchopated signature, what kind beat would you put on it?
Thing of a known song that I would hopefully know with the beat that you think is more appropriate for the tune and tell me the title, I'd try it.
Philby glad you took the time to listen man, I read in one of your post that you're musically active lately with some gigs, good for you Philby keep the live acts alive. Say if it was not cancelled, how did you solo gig go?
It was interesting in reading your impression and description of the tune.
If I had money I'd buy plane tickets for all the guys on this board put all you in a studio for a month with your rigs and record everything
I'd bet we'd have a ball

Hey Fretwork,
Actually it was the lack of syncopation that had me forming my critque.
Yeah. its tough without being in the studio together with me on the kit sayin what about this, then you say No, I dont like Sh$#t, try sumpinelse.. :

...It may be triggering a flashback of a tune that I HAD to play too straight laced..I had to make a livin through the dreaded disco craze of the late 70's..

..Yeah , Id mentioned "I shot the Sheriff"but there are up beat kicks and accents that wouldnt fit your tune BUT , thats the motif I was depicting...Your tune has different moods coming and going which is cool, but makes it hard to nail down 1 rhythm structure that you would wanna have to fit the whole tune...Im gonna mess with it in Cool Edit..Ill post some ideas soon (just drum trx rhythm exp.)

Man, drummers listen to a song way differently. I had to listen twice to get the drift of what John was saying. Interesting.
