Medical for cruise ship

Hello I wonder if anyone can recommend an affordable clinic/private hospital in the UK that will do the mandatory cruiseship medical. I've not had a quote less than £600. By the way it is not the UK ENG1 test I'm after. I would be working for an American company and they have their own set of checks they want doing: chest x-ray, hearing test, urine analysis, urine drug test, chemistry-19 panel, hepatitis A,B and C.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Good wishes

Simeon

If you are trying to work for a company shouldn't THEY pay for your medical tests?

I agree, Bob, but it doesn't seem to work like that. I'm hearing cruise companies are pretty tight-fisted.... Some reimburse $100 once you've passed the medical, but I've not heard of any paying for the whole thing.

I was lead to believe a medical would cost me around $300 which is about £150. I could've swallowed that. But with the current exchange rate, £600 is 10% of what I would've earned on a six-month contract which was too high an overhead, so I turned it down.

Anyway, if any UK musicians reading this know where I can get one cheaper, please let me know.

Cheers
