Me and The KIDD -- first mix 'The Cripes'

Some of you have heard part of this one back when it maybe 1/4 song, before I started torturing The KIDD with my music.
Temorary title 'The Cripes'. (I figure it will have a different title once words and singing are added.)
I wrote the guitar stuff and probably 90% of the way I wanted the Bass to go.
Maybe 50% of the way I wanted the drums to go.
John (The KIDD) played drums and took my keyboard bass line and put down some real Bass. Added in his 10 cents where he felt the need, and put a boatload of time in dealing with my poor communication skills and tweaking the mix in cool edit.

This is frankensteins monster.
From garage band, tascam CD-GT1, and midi keyboard bass, to cool edit, a brain, drum mics, and an abused bass guitar that had no right having its E tuned down that slack. Plus sending a nice 70's music style/bluegrass guy a bunch of my heavy noise... :)
The man is a saint.

Anyway, we thought we would throw the first mix out and see what kind of feedback we could get before refining the mix.
(Err... before John refines the mix.)
So check out my Bandmix player and 'The Cripes'.

Hell yea, my kinda heavy shiznit :D :D 8)
I feel the need... to HEADBANG!
You know when you have long hair and you hear good metal, you just HAVE to headbang. Anyways, love it, guys. Clear mix and the bass is audible (very good thing). I strongly hear the Jerry (AIC) influence. You don't hear that too often.
I shall return for seconds.. and thirds.. soon.

I like the riff. I like the crunch.

What tuning are you playing in? Just curious.

I guess you want some growling voices on there to compliment the guitar.

I would like to hear it when you finish it.

Thanks for sharing.

Tuning is Drop D (flat).
I would kind of like to hear it with mostly clean vocals. Maybe a little rock growl hear and there. Something melodic and expressive.
It might be more challenging than one would think at first listen to get that done though. (I'm not a singer so it wont get done by me :) )

Have you got lyrics or an idea for lyrics?

Ive kind of been on a writing binge lately and wouldnt mind taking a shot at it if you are open to that. Im not sure if I can load something back into my recorder to record over it is my only problem. I use an old Roland VS recorder, I may be able to just throw a stereo track of a cd back on to my recorder and lay some vocals and stuff over it.

Respond back and if you want to pursue this I'll contact you privately to work out the details.

I like it, Zip. Kidd did a great job with it, too.

jw123, I shot you a message about it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
Especially the enthusiastic feedback! :) Makes a guy feel all warm and fuzzy.

We are still kicking around a few different mixes, so if anyone has suggestions on the mix we'd like to hear them. (Errr, read them.)
