Hey Bandmixers, what's available these days as far as phasers go? I've got all the other types of modulation pedals (tremolo, chorus, flanger, univibe) but there's been a few times in the home studio, where a phase shifter would have been the first choice if I had one. I know the MXR (Dunlop) Phase 90s are popular, but I'm concerned that just a single speed control is going to be too limiting as far as tweaking goes.

Hey Dajax,

I know you have and use alot of the vintage pedals, stomp boxes, FX racks etc..Just wonderin if you'd compared any of those old FX units with the Direct X or VST plug in software FX ?.If so, are any of them worth mentioning? Wish I could help ya but being a drummer ,all I know is "small stone" ... ...

Thanks,

John

Actually no K, I haven't checked out any of the software based effects. I decided to go the stand alone recorder route because my PC is an old piece of garbage...to the point that I'm surprised I can even upload tunes to this site. I'ts pretty much old stomp boxes for effects, and occassionaly some of the built in effects in my Tascam 8 track. My friend has a Small Stone that I may borrow to check out.

Tascam 8 track. I think I had one of those in my 67 VW.
But for real. Is that what you are recording with? I have a little Zoom H4
It has way more effects and stuff that I will ever use. I would just like to capture our live sound. The learning curve has to be driven at about 10mph. If I ever get rich I'm going to build my own recording studio.
