If a band contacts you, this means that they are obviously interested in finding out more about you/auditioning you. Whether or not you are interested as well, it is still in good taste to shoot them a quick message back stating so, so that they can move on and not waste any more time on you. Even worse is when a musician writes back that they are interested and then never respond back again. Band Mix is a great search tool, but if we don't use it properly it affects all of us. Just keep that in mind before you ignore your messages.
Yes, indeed. If you claim to be a musician- that is your profession regardless if you are a doctor, lawyer or electrician...even if you do it "just for fun". Do it right. Don't fail to follow-up one way or another. If you neglect this one important fact, word gets out. Then, when the band, orchestra or duo that you are truly interested in contacts you, or vice versa, your credibility and commitment will be challenged. In my experience,I usually meet musicians that have various musical outlets. An audition may not get the gig that you want but you will be remembered which can lead to bigger and better gigs. Bandmix is one way to advertize yourself as a professional so...be professional.
