Actually I have found this site to NOT be a rip-off. The forum is wonderful. Even though I don't personally know anybody here I consider many of the forum contributors to be my Bandmix friends. I also have jammed with a few musicians on this site, recently we had the pleasure of jamming with a very fine guitar player from Bandmix who is going to play with us at least for the foreseeable future. In my opinion Bandmix is my favorite music site. The annual fee is a small price to pay for all the knowledge you can gain here, mainly from the forum contributors who give great advice (for the most part) and offer critique of music posted on various profile pages. You should look at the whole picture of what you can get here and take advantage of before you can say it's a rip-off. Later...
YEAH, what the FISHMAN said and then some...
Yeah , Ive done some on line file swappin , multi trackin and collaboration that wouldnt have been possible with out having the PF player to put up edits and critique THUS, create what WE all love.Great bunch of guys/gals on here as well. The genre base is quite open and diverse but we all support one another...OK, anybody else wanna chime in?

I let a few others post first, but I completely agree with what all of them said. You want free go to My Space. (Sucks).
I went to McDonalds for lunch today, they wanted me to pay for my food. That sucks.
I've meet and played with 1/2 a dozen people the couple of years I've had this acount. Best forums and people on this site too.

I respectfully beg to differ...Myspace has been a very helpful place for me acquiring band members, posting gigs and contacting booking agents... If it wasn't for myspace...I'd still be playin' in my basement.... Oh....it's free

At your age turk, you should have a better concept of a basic business model; and a basic understanding that there's no such thing as a free lunch.

I agree w/ Crip
MySpace has been good for me. I met a musician last night because of contacts through MySpace.

My coments on my space are my opinion only. I know of plenty of people who use it and have great results. Definately no offence taken Crip, I'm sure I'll eventually have to break down and use it too.

Had a myspace months ago (haven't checked it for a long time). When I first joined I got request after request of women wanting to be my friend. Wendy, Sonia, Ann-Marie, Linda, etc.etc. Each sent a picture of their derriere. Funny, it was exactly the same picture. I guess a lot of women look the same from behind. Later...

Turk - quitcher frikken whinin', get a haircut, & get a REAL job...then see how much YOU'll wanna do for free.
(When the hell did I become such a damned curmudgeon?)
It just disgusts me when I hear ppl talking like they're entitled to things with zero effort on thier own part, & lots of effort by others.
Gotta tell ya, Turk. From what I've seen here, I wouldn't want to play with you. You sound like a diva that never even practices, & I've worked with too many of those to waste my time.
Don't even know why the heck I've responded to you, but if it helps you get your head outta yer butthole, it's worth it.
Otherwise, in the words of granfallooners everywhere - love it or leave it!
