I believe there are some basic pieces of information that everyone should provide to create an effective profile. One of them is in the INFLUENCES area. Please don't put "Too Many To List." We get it. You play a wide variety of music or are at least influenced by a wide variety of musicians. But "Too Many To List" does not provide any information to the person reviewing your profile. At least list your top ten. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Audio, Audio, & Audio. Its like a "picture of your sound." And is worth more than a thousand words listing influence. Insted of Wow that reads like what I want to do. Its, Wow that SOUNDS like what I want to do!

Does it really matter who influenced me? My influences never made it big so you've never heard of them. My grandfather was a guitarist singer and was on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour show in the 50's. He went on to make two albums but family was more important than fame. My dad was a guitarist and played in rock bands in the 70's touring mostly in the Midwest sharing the stage with bands such as Grand Funk Railroad and Reo Speedwagon but family was more important. than fame. My brother was a guitarist and played in rock/metal bands. He was my mentor musically but alcohol and drugs were more important than fame. On my profile I put down what styles I play and audio samples of what I play and that's all anyone should really need.

Wow Mike, that's a really interesting family line. I think it would be really cool to have a history like that.
Sorry about your brother.
It might make a good book after you get tired of your upcoming fame and riches.

Sans, yeah audio should be able to show and not tell, but people like me dont always have the discipline to put up just one style.
I like to dabble in different genres and such, and I know I will be compelled at some point to post something that isn't exactly what I'm looking for.
