Greetings "BandMixerinios",
Thanks to BandMix, after several months of lookin' ,I have "officially" procured both a drummer AND a new guitarist, to reform our Pocono band, "The Gin House Rockers" We hope to be out giggin' in the near future.
Because we are no longer looking to augment the band at this time, I updated the information on my BandMix profile to reflect this development so as not to mislead, or waste anyone's time.
This site has been a great asset.
I shall keep my account current, as I have come to enjoy (after over 600 post) yackin' on the forum with Y'all.
I put up a rough live mini disk recording from the other night of one of our cover songs on my profile, (the old R&B classic, "I've Been Loving You To Long To Stop Right Now") for you to scrutinize if you so desire. You can down load it if you want.
I kept my old "off vinyl" recording of the original song, "Come On To Me" (1982 Tentative Relationship) on my profile, since some of you seem to like it .
I hope to put some more developed new stuff up as time permits.
I am now strongly considering upgradeing my account to a "full blown" BAND VISTA Website.
Thanks for listenin'
Your ol' pal,
Howlin'J

"Nice, nice, very nice, how they all work together in the same device." (K.Vonnegut, Jr)
Congratulations, HJ!
I'm gonna post a whole bunch more, now. You think 600 is enough to get me what I want?
Listening to your track right now. Sounding good.
Now get a whole buncha material together & get out there & get some gigs.

Sounds really good Howlin. Glad you have a good working band again. It's time for you to be up there on stage again making the ladies swoon. I'm ready to hear more so post them up as you make them.

Good news Howlinj. Just proves the old saying "you can take the boy out of rock, but you can't take rock out of the boy." Sounds like you're back in it. Knock'em dead. Hopefully we'll be getting a guitar player soon and getting back out there as well. Later...

Damn.. How'd I miss this?
I guess I didn't recognize the "Gin House Rockers" as being Howlin's band.
Sounds good Howlin. It's always good to be back in the swing of things. One Day Broken is soon to be rejuvenated as well.
I'm working on new stuff right now.. We've been out of the mix for a while. I understand the feeling.
I feel like doing a cover of "Back In the Saddle"..Hahaha.
Good luck man. I'll be looking forward to hearing some more.

Thanks to all for the encouraging words.
We have thus far worked up a list of 45 covers, mostly 60's classics ( stuff like The Zombie's "She's not there", The Grass Root's "Lets Live For Today" etc.) mixed with some more obscure stuff to keep things interesting (Louis Jordan's "Saturday Night Fish Fry , Moby Grape"s "Murder In My Heart For The Judge") I'll put some more noise up on the player as time permits, and we hammer the tunes together tighter. (assuming we progress , practicing once a week is a slow process)
I'm holding off on the originals for now, until we get a solid playlist to gig with. I'm pleased to say that there are now a few places to play in our area that are receptive to original music, so I look forward to getting back into that game.
Shredd 6,
Great to hear that your reforming One Day Broken'!
Keep on rockin' to all!
later

Way to go howlin, lotsa luck to ya.
Excuse me if I don't run to your profile and listen, dialup makes that painful and to be honest right now I'm sick as hell and want nothing but quiet. Haven't even picked up a guitar in 3 days...I gotta be really bad off to not practice or at least doodle for a half hour...
Some virus or other is clobbering this area, I got it. Think I was almost delerious this afternoon, dizzy every time I stood up, low grade fever, I hurt in places I didn't know I had places...even my damn eyebrows hurt....I've coughed till every muscle in my stomach hurts and it's not over yet...
SOMEBODY SHOOT ME....maybe I'll feel better,...anyway I'm not listening to your tunes tonight, sorry guy
