Welcome back! Technology is a two-edged sword, kind of a love/hate relationship with me since it's what I do for a living. Making some kind of backup is critical, even for a home PC.

He's lucky he's not in Texas! I used to drive 47 miles one way to work every day out in west Texas. See nothing but roadkill jackrabbit ears flappin on the highway as I went by at a 100mph.

Welcome back Craig, sucks about the computer, I had to work on my win98 machine tonight, it had way too many dust bunnies inside and was getting hot, rebooted and got a voice alert I could barely understand. Also had 3 blown capacitors, soldering in new ones is a pain...but it seems to be running ok now, still have it on the repair bench running to be sure it'll do ok. CPU was at 100°F after running 15 minutes, I figured it was good to go so I left it to run overnight to see how it goes.

Glad it didn't die, it's the one with my recordings on it. Fortunately I have the good ones on CD already...

Yeah my commutes in Colorado were never less than 16 miles one way.
I come back to idaho and heard friends complaining that something was too far away, 'clear across town', and it usually turned out that it was like 5 or 6 miles away.
:D
