Mike you posted a video a while back of you cutting up in front of a crowd. It was you playing solo and you had the coolest delay going and I asked you what you were using.

I picked up one of those Line 6 delays a couple of days ago and this thing is awesome. I love the old echoplex sounds, analog sounds and reverse, but the coolest part is the sampler section. Im going to try and figure out how to use this thing live to play rythym and lead at the same time, kind of like Neanderpaul does.

Anyway just wanted to say thanks cause if you hadnt posted that video I might not have gotten this thing.

Your welcome JW. Back when I was doing solo shows I used it quite a bit. The looper is excellent for a solo artist but I do wish it had an undo feature. It's not that important for home studio work but for live stuff it would make things easier. I also use it when I'm writing songs for the band at home. It does speed up the writing process when putting the rhythm and lead guitar parts together. I put up a short sample on my profile of a song I was messing around with when I was first learning to use the the looper. It's called "Spanish Strat" if you care to listen.

Mike I liked the delay so much I went and bought the distortion modeler too. I havent tryed it yet. I found both of these units used at a Guitar Center for half off what the new ones are. I hear people blasting GC all the time but so far my experiences have been positive and a couple of things I didnt like they gave me a full refund on after a few days. So if any of you guys are sniffing around a guitar center ask the salesmen where the used stuff is, you just might find some real jewels for a good price.

Haha.. You know I'm joking dog. I always dig your work.

BASTARD!!!!!!

Coming up here I'll be recording some stuff at home. I'd love for you to hear some of my clean channel Strat stuff. It'll take some time though. For some reason, a while back I let someone talk me into replacing my Lace Sensors with EMG actives. Big mistake. Sounded like CRAP! So now I have to rewire my Strat back to the way it was.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of pickups do you use in your Strat Mike?

Sanshouheil, thanks! I do appreciate it.

JW, that's a cool modeler. I have a bunch of distortion pedals but haven't tried the line 6 distortion modeler. Let me know how you like it.

Shredd, I have a few guitars but these are my two babies. The one on the left is a 1974 Strat with original pickups. I'm going to put in some Surh V60 LP's as soon as I get the time. The other is my Special Edition Clapton Strat which has the Fender vintage noisless pickups.

Nice dude!!

My first guitar was a 1984 '57 Strat re-issue. I still have it, but it needs to be re-fretted.

Right now, this is the one I use.

It's a 1992 Strat plus deluxe With Lace sensors.
I just got through re-wiring it. I found an old Duncan Cool rail that I'd forgotten about and dropped it in the bridge.
F**kin'-A it screams!! Now that I've re-tubed my Rec, it sounds really killer. It shocked me at first. There's no way I'm going back to the red Lace now. I do like the Blue Lace, and the Silver is my favorite Middle pickup of all time. I have it in 3 of my guitars.

Anyway.. Nice guitars dude. I like 'em both.

I'm not sure why you would want to put different PUs in your 74 though. There are a lot of people who would kill for those. If you do, you just might have a buyer for those 74's.. Namely myself.

Ye be makin me Strat hungry again. Nice axes dudes, Just wondering . Yall seem to prefer the single coils vs a humbucker at the bridge. Any particular reason.

I know this question wasn't directed at me, but if I can find a hot single coil or a hot 'rail' type single coil and use it for the bridge, it gives me a certain snarl that I really like. More gravelly.
I dub it "the devils gravel slide".
It's very dependent on the pickup/amp combination though.

It was a general q Zip, I appreciate the input.
