Just wrote a song called "Dead Man's Hand" about ole Wild Bill and Deadwood, and well, aces and eights, and Jack McCall, who shot Bill dead in the back of the head.

Maybe I'll post it, if the band works it up soon.


We just finished a round of Battle of the Bands (we're actually in two right now) and advanced to the semi-finals. There was a guy there who was a solo acoustic act (not for the battle) and I got my boys to go up there with me and back him up, when we finished our set. Played with him for about an hour.

Never played any of the songs he did, and just met the guy that night. But we jammed along with him for an hour, and it was a BLAST!

I know that guy was thrilled to suddenly have a full band backing him up. The place went crazy, and we all had a great time. That's what music is about right there!

Turns out his manager, used to manage the Allman Brothers, so who knows, this boy may make it. He was pretty talented. Played rhythm and lead and sang.

We moved our bass player to drums, lead guitarist went to bass, I played keys, and kept my other lead guitarist on lead guitar. I think the crowd enjoyed all the instrument switching too. LOL

I've got a pretty talented bunch of guys together.

I was proud of 'em!

Me father was a sailor man in the 40's n early 50's. Family night was often match stick poker According to Hoyle non of that jack wild BS. I'm a good poker player but much too hot headed to use real money.

I'm personally thinking of doing a few acoustic solo gigs soon. If I do, I'll have someone film it for you. I usually have a way of shocking people with my acoustic stuff.

I know what you mean. It's fun for the band, and for the fans too, and usually unexpected, when they look around, and think "Hey, wasn't that guy on lead guitar before? And whoa, is that the bass player on drums now?" I've seem Kid Rock live, and he switches instruments, plays them all some, but usually as a gimmick on one song. But you don't always see the whole band doing it. Out of the five guys I have "currently" (lol) 3 of us play at least 3 instruments a piece, one plays two and three of us can sing, so as we work more together as a band, that should lead to some interesting stuff.

Hmm... I don't know. But I always just say "break a leg" and you are right, that comes from actor's superstitions. Which, when I was a kid, I used to act in some local theaters, doing plays and musicals.

If any of you guys sign him up, let him know, that the Mischief sent you! He's a pretty talented all around player, singer and writer. In some ways his MySpace doesn't do him justice. He's a very energetic and personality filled entertainer, having fun and joking with the crowd fearlessly. He had everyone cracking up, when he played one interesting cover...

From the commercial, he played the whole thing, and made the whole place cheer and crack up!

That stuff was just solo stuff I wrote, just to write for fun cause the band wasn't practicing much.

I put up some practice recordings of the band I'm working with now. But two of the guys have only been with me a week or so, and the songs posted they haven't heard before. We had only played them through once, and recorded them the secong time through, so they could take the recording home and work on some parts. Considering it was only the second time through the songs, they did amazingly well, but you'll hear all the screw ups and changing riffs, as everyone is trying to work some parts out. It'll sound night and dat different, when we've had a week or so to get them ironed out.

I just put them up to share some of the writing. No one commented on the songs, so I took that post down. LOL

Cause I hate putting half-assed sh*t up anyway, and no comments, I figured no one really liked the songs. But ahh hell, maybe I'll put that post back up, cause it had the lyrics in them, and I still think that hearing the song only once through, they showed that they are gonna come up with some killer stuff.

Well, I'm the lead singer, play rhythm guitar and I do the keyboards. I can also fiddle with bass and drums a little too. I have two lead guitarists, both different styles. The one you are probably referring to is really really good, and does it all, hammering, pinches, soloing like a mad man. He also kicks ass on bass, and is a very good drummer as well. Sings too. I'm pretty fortunate to have him on board!

Well, like I said, I posted some of our practice. But it is a process. You guys know that. Most of the band has never worked on the three songs posted before. Heard them once through, for the key and arrangement, and recorded on the second time through the songs.

I'll post them again later, maybe, when we put them in some of the performances coming up this week. And you'll see the difference a week makes.

I just came down with a hellacious cold though, and it's wreaking havoc on my voice! And we got two gigs this week. Damn!!!

Usually I can still sing when sick fairly decent, but this cold's pretty bad.

I was a child actor as well. I'd act like I was crying when my mom would spank me too keep my dad from doing it. Yikes !
Oldest remedy in the world man put some Vick's in your mustache.
Drink or eat no milk or dairy products ZERO. And drink water till you cant stand it no more. It works dude. Dairy creates more snot, just say no. Water keeps it thin so you can clear it out of your head and chest. Not only do I know this as a nurse but from my hard training gung fu days.
