Who's your favorite musical comedy act?

I grew up listening to my Dad's old 78's of Spike Jones & the City Slickers (or his Country Cousins) & Homer & Jethro. These guys were all top notch musicians, & the stuff they did was FANTASTIC, both from a musical standpoint & comically.

These days I always watch for Steven Lynch. His sick lil sense of humour always delivers a chuckle.

I've gotten kinda tired of Wierd Al.

Do you have a fave?

I fear I have been remiss in adding just two little words;

ERIC

IDLE

The man's a genius in everything he does, from Monty Python to way back in the Ruttles...he's just too damned funny!

Ray Stevens was good, too. Good one, sans.

Steverino Allen, hands down!

He was an underrated, extremely talented song writer, musician comedian, t.v. show host.

Kept a smile on my face for many years. :)

Loved Steve Allen!!! I saw one Tonight Show episode where he did an "educational" skit on spaghetti trees...ppl actually wrote the show complimenting him on this one, & thanking him for the info!!!

Victor Borge was wonderful! I have a VHS of one of his shows on PBS. Very funny guy...I still laugh at his bits, esp the one where he plays the sheet music upside down & then fixes it...great stuff!

Yeah he was funny, I also liked PDQ Bach, and you can't forget Steve Martin playing the banjo or The Smothers Brothers.

All that comes to mind for me is Cheech and Chong, One of my college bands used to play Earache My Eye and Basketball Jones. A guy that plays drums with me some used to get up during breaks and do Richard Pryor jokes, but I dont guess that quailifies.

well one band that has an act thats laughable is GWAR (God What an Awful Racket) pretty much sums it all up george bush animatronics and other fun stuff....brian posehn has one song I think but as a metaller I find it amusing, "metal by numbers" you've all touched on some good stuff that I've at least heard of most of it I've heard (my parents lived the era after all)
