"Send wire, main office, tell them I said ow, gotcha. "

I have only been here a short time, and I'm already weary
of all the profiles with no music attached to them. :x
Come on people, put 'something' up! Especially if you are a vocalist.
Vocalist have it the easiest of all... grab some karaoke tracks or something, sing over them, and post them. It's about as easy as it gets as far as recording goes.
I just figured it would be a priority over pictures or graphics, or anything else.

I took what I had posted down for about a day while I worked on something else, as it's not indicative of the style of rock that I've been looking to do.
I thought that it might be scaring people away... that I might be shooting myself in the foot.
But I couldn't do it... I couldn't stand the idea of being another generic profile just taking up space. I was compelled to put it back up.
And it's nothing... it's a trivial piece. But it's 'something'.
If I can do it, YOU can do it.

Oh, and one other thing.
...if you sign up for a free account, figure out that you can't email anyone, and then bail on it... could you find the time in your schedule to delete that account?

Zip...I feel your pain.

Still, even if someone decides to bail, doesn't BM send notification to one's regular email addy when you get a message from someone? Even if they "drop outta BM" w/out dropping the post, they'd still get some notification & possibly answer you when they do.

No audio? I won't waste my precious time any more than to look at your page.

No need to get depressed about other ppl's dumbness, Zip...I still have hope.

Perhaps you should add another piece that IS indicative of the stuff you wanna do, though...just a suggestion. I'd like to hear it 1st.

Zip,
Sounds to me like you're way ahead of the eight ball on the "BandMix Learning Curve".

However,
in defence of the people who either choose to,
haven't had time to,
don't yet know how to
don't have the means to
or any of a myriad reasons that they don't have audio up,
I say,

EVERYONE'S TRIP IS DIFFERENT

In short, there may be a good reason.

One thing is for certain however, when One loads their profile with "audio ammo",so to speak, One greatly increases their chances of a successful hunt.

I am very pleased that my BandMix search has been highly successful, since I've added audio. After I get my new band "up and running", I shall consider upgradeing my Free BandMix membership to a "full blown" BANDVISTA" account, which I have come to regard as a mighty tool indeed.

I'll be checkin' your MP3 player out later,

Keep On Rockin'

Hey Gang,

Yeah, well put Howlin...People are on here for many different reasons...
I think if you pay close attention to their first and/ or second post, you can get a sense of why they're here and whether their gonna contribute in any capacity...I was on here for a long time (since 2005) before I put up anything...I was intimidated by all the new technology but as I continued to make friends and recieve , AND OFFER HELP, in my areas of expertise,I recieved knowledge from my bro's and sis's..Most on here that come and go are usually here to take...Here recently, we witnessed 2 of them and they took such a beating that they didnt even post ANYTHING back in defense of themselves...They were here only to take  We all come from different backgrounds, generations, music genres,etc...There are some on here who I really like from a personal standpoint ,BUT dont particularly care for their genre, but appreciate their talent, then there are those that I prolly would not get along with personally, BUT, really like their material so its ALWAYS gonna be a mixed bag as to how we all relate to one another..So ,consider all when forming judgements on here...AND FURTHER MORE...aaaaa Thats enough

I'd be the first to say " Post some Jams for me to listen to " I'm a selfish SOB. But I had to build up our band before We could post. And I knew when I put it up we need lots of work as a band and me on the recording editing thing. But that is why I am here, to learn grow improve and to be of assist to anyone whom may benefit from my strengths. Please take note that when we ( the forum community) encourage people to put up stuff they usually come through.

there is no excuse as to having no audio......and i will tell you why..

here is the three easy steps to putting up profile music...

step one...get a computer(if your looking at this chances are you already have one) doesnt have to be the best just any "ok computer'....

step two...download audacity(its free)...install audacity and open the program...

step three...get yourself a mic(any old mic will do it but if you have a good one it helps)....plug the mic straight into the computer(no preamp needed) and hit record.....

do all of these things and you will have an mp3 of your own music that you can put up on bandmix....you dont need money, know how,or alot of tech speak to make a half good recording...if any of you heard my recording of my own tune "before colour tv" everything was recorded using audacity and it sounds great....

so go now and get recording people....

no need to thank me...just doin my job.

I've got 5 songs on my profile. All I did was record everything onto my BR 600 and export to i tunes on my computer. Then I converted it to Mp3 and loaded it onto bandmix. I see this site as a great place to share info, and also to collaborate on MUSIC ideas. Alot of people put up crap about politics and religion and what not. Let's stop talking and start playing! We are musicians after all! :D

thats cool sanshouheil...i really cant say enough good things about audacity...and by the by audacity was programed by the guy who created google...he did audacity as a school project....very easy to use compared to say cubase/vst or logic...and ideal for doing demos and getting down rough ideas and the likes....even for recording a jam session...i would advise everybody to get audacity and get recording.

Yeah, they would still get a notification. I just get the impression that there are tons of derelict profiles though. They probably don't really care.

I'm working on another piece, but having problems with the drum parts at the moment.

Howlin J,
I know everyones trip is different. I just had one of those moments...
I apologize to any regulars that I might have rubbed the wrong way.
I agree with ya about BANDVISTA. Seems like a no-brainer for anyone that has the whole package ready. :D

Hey I have no audio yet of my originals, budget and whiplash, which makes it harder to get prepared, but I am working on it and will have it up soon
How about having live solo acoustically performed videos up and nobody sees them because they don't take time to read and see ..lol!

No just seriously kidding. I always take the time everywhere I post to tell " hey I have no audio yet, working on it, I have lots of songs, but I need to record them in a studio very soon. I DO have some live acoustic videos. ANd then I always have to add to it: You can see them in my profil eif you click on videos)" that is a real pain in the ..

Ney, I could o a karaoke track, but what about my cover of Losing My Religion (R.E.M.) I just sing and play it , oh erh.. in the VIDEO part of my profile LOL!!!!
I have over 50 songs and some of them on youtube http://www.youtube.com/yanetzin (live solo acoustic-budget!!!) but I really love that R.E.M. vibe in that song, hope you'll check it out

Love peace, music, xxx Lony
