Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

I have playing with the idea of creating a social networking site for musicians only....invite only...no fee...only one or two ways to join...a place where musicians can hang with likeminded people and pool their ideas and resources...I know your saying well there is already myspace and face book ...but to that i say....1 I hate spam....2 too many people get on there just to grab myspace friends.....its a great place to get heard dont get me wrong...but its not so good for networking with individuals of the same mentality......what do you guys think? should I make it or no...and if I do ....what should the features be....I guess im sayin this....Im building a cool music lovers clubhouse just for us and a few others what do you guys want in it.....other than free beer and keep it serious and clean...I really want to know.

Oh the spam there is getting insane. And it's also getting clever by posting titles that sound legit. The other day I got one that said "Your score submission accepted" because I have submitted scores to nine programs and that got me all excited...then I opened the message and there was some 23 year old wagging her clam at me, with a letter saying that "Tracee would LUV you to watch her shower tonight".

LoL! That sucks. Or maybe it doesn't, depending upon whether you like that kind of stuff.

At 18, I would have totally been into it. These days, nothing gives me a rise like a good composition, completed!

Perhaps you would like to collaborate on some ideas on this forum?

I'm always up for that. Toss some stuff out there and lets mix it up.

How bout you do a version of my song ADHD? It's on my profile and I can mail the lyrics to your mailbox on this site if you need em. I'll start working on some trance Ideas!

I think you were on to something with the free beer.
Cool idea all in all, but at the moment, I've been spending way to much time on line yackin' to y'all, and I fear I may be developing an addiction to it. I've been considering weaning off a bit.

Yo dez, Me thinks you have a killer idea but listen up a second.
Step back and take a look at what HowlinJ had to say bro.
I too spend too much time foolin around here, been issues thats kept me in la casa of late and been getting lots of good ideas and info I will be putting to the test with the band. It would be great for those of us who need to put more time on the fretboard and less on the keyboard if you could come up with a more user friendly format that this forum.
IE We could check in once a week or so and still be able to participate.
Post a song or just review what the other musicians are up to.
Hard for me to put this point across without lookin you in the eye but maybe you get the drift.
Very specific sections maybe insted of this mass driven shotgun effect.
