LOL, yeah I'm no singer that's well established. Hard-Headed Woman was recorded live (guitar and voice at the same time) so I couldn't overdub with better vocals, it's pretty much how I would do it live. I actually do have a CD with all instrumental classics, it's called NoVox. Tracks:

1. No Matter What - Badfinger
2. California Dreamin' - Mamas and the Papas
3. Up Around The Bend - CCR
4. Norwegian Wood - The Beatles
5. Europa - Santana
6. Happy Together - The Turtles
7. Killing Floor - Jimi Hendrix
8. Burning of the Midnight Lamp - Jimi Hendrix
9. Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
10. Rock & Roll Part II - Gary Glitter

As always, thanks guys!

Or Deep Purple!

"Hard- headed woman
And a soft-hearted man
They've been causing trouble
Since it all began
Took a little rice
Took a little beans
Gonna rock & roll
Down in New Orleans"

"Happy Together" and "Europa", very good. "Burning" was a little fast bpm-wise, no?

Very few seem to have the ability to take what you would think was useless cover material and make it interesting. I think you are doing a very good job making mudane seem new and different thus worthwhile. May as well play Sinatra if you can mutate it into something cool. (shrugs) I know I can't do that.

Got anymore Stones in there? DiD I miss the Gimme Shelter?
"Bridge of Sighs"..
Radar Love?
Ballroom Blitz?
If you wanna take it easy, give us some "La Grange"
"Way Cool JR"?

Never tried "Take 5" but I did do a cover of Gershwin's "Summertime", it's sort of a swing version ala Jeff Beck. Funny you mention "Bridge of Sighs" Captain, we used to do that one, I wish I had recorded it. But I did record "Day of the Eagle", I'll put it up sometime. Thanks for listening guys!

Jimmy Danger, sorry it took me so long, man!

But here I am, ready to give some objective criticism:

California Dreamin' - The beginning of this one freaks the heck out of me, it is like very scratchy sounding, lol. Kind of out of tune so to speak. It picks up and sounds better, but then the instruments begin to seem unsynchronized. Other than that it is not half bad, just needs some work. I would suggest re-recording that one, and laying off on how sharp the guitar is in the beginning. Need to do something to dull that out a bit... Lol.

Happy Together- Lol, this one reminds me of "The Wonder Years." I remember them playing this song in that show. This one sounds good, the instruments are in sync. It is very catchy. Well done!

Norwegian Wood - Sounds good to me, but I must admit I have never heard the original. But this is a cool sounding song. Very nice job once more! It is also very catchy.

Europa - *Listening to it as he types this, holds up a lighter, which is tricky since he does not smoke, imagines he has one then*
 <-Lighter. Lol. Nice work on this one Jimmy, it is beautiful sounding, I would like to dance to this piece, now if someone could find me a girl to dance with... :P I will let some of my Latin blood shine through!

I have always liked Santana, love his guitar playing and sound. I should really listen to more of his stuff and learn more of it. He does some really good compilations with other musicians these day. Most notably with Steven Tyler ("Just Feel Better") and with Chad Kroeger ("Into The Night").

Great job, man!

Burning of the Midnight Lamp - Great sounding piece man, nice work with the wah pedal on this one. I once more do not recognize this song. This goes to show you I need to work on my music history, lol. I need to do a bit more investigating into the 1960's music.

It is a well constructed piece and sounds very good. The soloing is awesome man, fluid and on perfect timing.

Conclusion - Well, what can I say, man... You have got a ton of talent! Keep writing and I will keep on listening.

One thing though, what kind of wah are you using? Is that a Vox wah, Dunlop Crybaby, Ibanez Weeping Demon wah, Behringer wah,
Boss auto- wah...? Which one?

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Hey thanks for the breakdown GA, very helpful. For a young guy you have a lot going on. I think the out-of-sync thing you mentioned on California Dreamin' is the call-and-response thing that the vocalists did on the original. One difficult thing about doing these instrumentals is keeping the voices distinct, since they're all guitar. The Hendrix tune was from "Electric Ladyland", a must-have album for guitarists. The wah is a Vox Cry Baby. Thanks again bro!

Thanks man. Yeah, I see what you mean about California Dreamin', it just makes me realize how complex music can be.

So that is a Vox, I thought it sounded more like a Vox than a CryBaby, something about it.

I will take a look into that album, thanks for the tip!

Peace out and keep on rocking, GuitarAnatomy.
