McCartney's WMGGW Bass Sound

Just isolated the one channel to listen to While My Guitar Gently Weeps...man that's a heavy bass tone. I wonder what gear is being used there. Gotta be his Jazz, or Ricky. I wonder if he's going into the board direct, or through an amp, or a combo of the two.

I hear when they were recording it that they took Clapton's solo and in order to create those odd guitar bend sounds they like messed with the tape. I am not sure, lol. I have not looked it up in a while, someone will correct me if I am wrong (This is the good part about being around veteran musicians with plenty of music knowledge, lol).

I love that song, Clapton's improvised solo in the anniversary for George Harrison (Back in 2002) was amazing. I tried to tab it by ear, but it was not so easy. That song was awesome, many people redid it, even Peter Frampton.
