You just had to outshine me, didn't you? Well let me tell you something my celtic friend! :x ...That's a great guitar!

Neh, just kidding around with you. That thing looks awesome, man. What kind of amp are you running it through? And what is the matter with the wiring? And if you do not mind me asking, how much was it?

Feels great to have a new guitar, huh? I love having my new one, surprisingly the neck on mine feels great for such a low priced guitar.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Well lads, here's the history:
Many moons ago, I bought on of these babies(a 1989) from my brothers band mate.

It was a mighty axe, & we played more gigs than I can remember(mostly church-related)

A couple years ago, I ended up trading it in + some cash toward a Mexican strat...the thing was getting just plain worn: frets, fretboard finish, electronics etc and I just decided to forgo reconditioning & look at options for reselling.
Fast forward many moons later, I start to surf around ebay & I can now see that the RG 550's are actually starting to become collector pieces of sorts..I see decent purples ones selling for 600+all day long.
Ibanez even reissued the RG550 they became so popular again..

Meanwhile, my brother([Steve]always wheeling/dealing guitars) informed me of this Orange RG he had.

Long story short, he gave it to me.
So, here I am, back in possession of one of the coolest, easy playing & killer sounding guitars I've played.

As far as amps go, I have always mostly used amps as a monitor, sometime smicing, but mainly I play through(get ready for this) my faithful old ZOOM 2020 Player!

I currently own a Fender DSP chorus(freebie also!)
Very killer sounding amp in it's own right.

Someday soon, when I can get up some motivation, I'll look into putting some jams together & record some fresh stuff for the profile..

Cheers!
Rich

Piper,
Back in the 60's, our bass player in "The Lost Minds" had a "Fender Jazz Bass". He painted it the same orange color as your guitar . Anyways, thats a fine lookin' axe ya' got there! (what color are the pipes?) :D

blah I have the same roadcone orange rg550. All stock.

I'd sell that with a hardshell case. That floyd rose locking trem is pure MUD.

love those old ibzs. would love to find that year of rg550... they rock... I have a jem fp from 89 and there is nothing quite like it. The automatic split of the humbucker/s in pos 2 and 4 are key.
neck stringwidth wide but very narrow depth.
not just for shred either... tons of people were playing those things back then. very versitile.
anywho, if you need help on the wiring let me know...
ps you can find an ibz wiring diagram for the jem/rg online somewhere...
