Simple Introduction/Suggestions

What's up everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Chris, I play guitar, and I'm looking for other people who want to play either for fun or to perform. I've always played by myself, and it feels really limiting. Anyone in Southern California (Mission Valley, Spring Valley, Chula Vista, IB, etc.) looking for a guitarist contact me. Anyway, I haven't been playing seriously for that long, but I'm a decent player. Check out my profile and contact me about anything.

Also, I don't have any audio or video up because I don't have a camera or any kind of recording materials. Any suggestions on what to pick up? I'd really appreciate it.

Howdy and good luck.

Scroll down the topic list, we've had a couple of threads concerning recording setups, two running now in fact. Another a bit further down with input from several people concerning software, etc. I use audacity since it's free and works well and run a mic through a Tascam Portastudio 414, using the monitor signal to go into the computer's sound card.

Only problem is I can rarely use it, way too much noise around here. I can hear a dog bark a block away anywhere in the house, and with cars, kids, dogs and boom boxes constantly the only time I can record is 3AM...when I'm usually asleep or trying to get there...it's not easy to go to sleep with a neighbor's dog yapping all night nonstop and we have 3 here that don't seem to want to shut up for more than 5 minutes or so at a time...A good mic will pick it up every time, I've had to delete a dozen attempts because somebody's dog could be heard or a loud car drove by.

Welcome Sirc1017, nice to meet you. We have similar influences, I play a lot of metal. But I have been playing 2 years. I do not consider myself bad either, but until the music is heard, we cannot tell, lol. Others will be the judge of that. My family said I am not bad, however, we both know families always say that. Yeah, I could sound like a rooster with a CD stuck in its throat, lmao.

At any rate, once again, nice to meet you man, good luck.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.
