Depending on the genre of music, go whereever the music is being played and get to know bands doing what you want to do. There is a lot of volatility in a lot of groups and an established group would rather keep using their name than change if they needed a singer. Also a lot of bands know other bands and might refer you to someone needing a singer. I dont mean to be negative but I dont think someone on here is going to say come on lets make records. Make sure when you audition that you know up front some songs to sing, know them backwards and forwards.

Good Luck

thanks

I've had good luck with bandmix and craigslist. In my experience good singers are hard to find so you should be able to find someone to at least try out with. Finding a group with acceptable personalities, goals and musical ability is the tricky part. Best of luck.

make sure you get out and scope out your local music scene. There are kids like you at every show that wanna get a band together. Go out and make friends and invite people to jam and just see what happens. Good luck and getting the right group of people together is extremely hard i have yet to find a band that meshes and stays together.

Put some content up so people can see if your for real or all talk.

Everyone is "awesome" until you hear them.

And your "awesome" and my "awesome" may be two different awesomes.
