I uploaded a new file called Gently Crushing. Tell me what you think. Be honest, and when I say honest I mean devastating if need be.
Thanks all.

Your tune is pretty awesome for improvised. You're a good player. Have you ever seen Satriani?
irish anthony wrote:its not too bad at all..your a good player but i think it needs a little bit more structure,a hook to stand out over all the add lib solo stuff and it could be great..but i wouldnt want to have to put vocals over it as its very busy and hard to pin down a solid melody but apart from that its cool..alittle bit more t.l.c and time and im sure it will only get better keep it up wegman.

Number one I like the basic idea of this song. I listened a couple of times and the group Ratt comes to mind, dont take this in a bad way but it sounds like an 80s hair band song. Which I personally like.
Tonaly your guitar sounds great. Its heavy without sounding flabby if that makes sense. The first solo sounds like Satch, Im seeing Crystal Planet era. Theres a lick you do twice at around the 1:00 mark that is killer, you do it twice and being the sonic thief I am, I will probably steal that little lick. Around the 1:20 mark you have some great pinch harmonics going which is pure Les Paul/Marshall and good touch, some guys I know over use these but you throw them in tastefully. Around the 2:00 mark the solo and rythym seem to fall apart for me. In fact its kind of wide from there on out, but considering that you just threw this down on the fly its not that big a deal.
I would save this song. Im listening thru computer speakers with a sub and the drums and bass sound like mud. I cant get any real definition on the lower end. Did you use some kind of sub harmonizer or an octave device on the guitar for the bass? It sounds that way to me. I dont guess that they matter that much. you are mainly showcasing your guitar work.
Im hearing a nice reverb, an Alesis unit maybe on the guitar. Some people over do the reverb but you have just enough on the guitar to give it that coliseum/arena rock sound.
Once again the tone is great and the feel is great up until the 2 minute mark.

Tell it to a priest. LOL
3 comments on these boards is good bro. I ask people to comment on my songs and get NOTHING usually. LOL
If I had to base my songs on comments from musicians here, I would have had to retire a long time ago.Luckily I get great feedback in many other places.
As to your song...
Good job. You got chops, that's for sure. My only critique would be to have more definitive changes through the song, to keep it interesting. Of course, if you intend for this to have vocals, that may be negated.
I'd like to hear you with a worthy band sometime brother!
