Ok everyone .... in light of all the spit spats over the last few days .... I think we all need a "Happy Board"... lol. Lets all choose another member of Bandmix and rather than offer a smartass remark against them.... or an insult of some kind .... how about we submit instead an honest complement. Hey this should be easy ... lol.

I'll choose the "Ghost of BandMix Halls..... though there has been sitings of this ghost .... its difficult to say if the forum halls is in fact being haunted by the one and only "Greeniemagic".... though some sitings have been documented on other forum threads.... lol.

I nominate Greeniemagic's song "Don't Bring It Down" to receive a complement .... as I do surely complement her fine vocal work on this song.... and hope to hear more of this style of music from her in the future.

Oooh, wasn't expecting this but very flattered anyway. Thanx guys :D

It's a bit of a wierd one that song. It's like on one hand I'm really chuffed with it as it's one I wrote and recorded on my own but I also cringe sometimes when I hear it because I personally think my guitar player, singing and recording skills on it are a bit poor to be honest but when I try to re-do it, I just make it worse lol

Anyways, thanx for listening to it, made my day you have

I've just gone into your room Jimmy and had a listen. Like the 'Olympus Mons' tune you have on there!! Not sure if it's your own or a cover but I likes it anyway :D

And If you like acoustic songs, listen to Kat-Rocks and her tune 'Letter To A Friend' I really like it. Raw and packed out with emotion, bit of Marianne Faithful in there maybe!! But anyways, should imagine she'd be pretty good seeing live, has one of them voices that cuts through and grabs you IMHO

I grew up listening to Kate Bush (4+ octave range!) and she is simply phenomenal. I have my mother to thank, for growing up with Kate Bush, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Dinah Washington, Lena Horne... the list is simply too long, but she exposed me to a diverse universe of sounds and styles, for which I'll always be grateful.

I like that song and your music on this site.
The dissonant chords sound too skewed during your vocal parts on Dont Bring It Down...(to me) seems like they don't quite meet.

Your music on this site is good, but the mixing sounds like someone tried to give too much definition to each instrument, thus leaving it brash, harsh, and clinical...very few mids and no bottom.
That rain storm in Goodbye, is overpowering and sounds like a struggle over who's going to come out on top, the vocals or the storm.

Walk away is by far the best recording, yet the blending/mixing still seems sterile.

Thanx for the the comment JW :) Had a listen to yours and think Cyber Outlaw is the better one out of the three but could do with more kick ass drums in it I think to improve it but still good anyway :D

Thanx for your comments too Franny. Yes, have to agree with you on everything apart from the rain, I quite liked it that high in the mix, I did try taking it down but it sounded better up, well to me anyway lol

Desire and walkaway were recorded by the guys I wrote the songs with so cannot really comment on what processes they used but both were done at home and quickly, we didn't really have a lot of time to spend on them.

Goodbye and Lies were done by me and I'm still pretty much at the begginer stage and yep I know it shows
