Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

Sorry, nothing personal. But this has to be one of the lamest forums i have ever seen. The majority of the topics are just bands looking for musicians. Thats what classifieds are for, NOT A CHAT ROOM. Out of almost 150,000 registered users, not one of them is a moderator either.(not that i really want the job). That seems alittle strange. Whats the deal? I want to see random conversations, not "blah blah needs so and so." or "Texas band needs a guitarist". I don't know if anyone's noticed but Texas let alone the nation is a pretty big place. Rather than posting in a General Chat Room, you'd probably have better luck on Craigslist or even your bandmix profile. Im not trying to piss any off, i just get tired of sifting through threads that should be in a classifieds section.

Your thoughts? What say you, the masses of bandmix?

I dunno. All day I have to filter out junk, both from individuals and from media:
"Uh actually uh I mean yuno uh it's just just uh..."

Excellence is rare at all times and in all places. Why would BandMix be so different?

I'm not asking for execellence, just alittle organization. I'm part of several musician forums and they all have moderators and rules to make sure people post where it will be most effective.

I say you should spend a little less time superimposing Rosie O'Donnell's face on a captured terrorist, and start some of the precious conversation threads you decry as so wanting here.

Yeah, I agree with all these sentiments . . . .
I've been here for a few years. Every 4 - 5 months or so, we get some conceited self-centered person who's angry at the world and wants to take it out on us.
And, they know they can get away with it on the internet, because you can't punch them in the nose, like anywhere else where you'd meet face to face.
The moderators here don't care.
And, within 2-3 weeks, the enviromet here is polluted with bad emotions.
And everyone is arguing; and then soon the forum gets quiet, except for that one individual, and the most angry of the rest of us . . .
Emotional pollution.
It's like dropping a bottle of ink into a fish tank. Kind of hard to see anything nice . . .
Here's hoping this doesn't happen again . . .
Every time it happens, we lose about 1/3 of the 'good guys.'
Life is already rough enough . . . .

EXACTLY!! That's what this web site is all about -- and since the topic is "General Chat" -- I believe pretty much anything goes.......
