i have a bunch of JP albums/cds...both solo and band.
i think his chops and abundance of ideas might be why i don't like him more. he's pretty laid back here and actually doesn't "fill it up" quite as much as he usually does. and his tone is really nice and round here (man, some of his recordings have terrible tone!)
i respect JP but much prefer the space and soul of Jim Hall and Kenny Burrell (my main man).

you know how it goes...at a certain level it's not about "better", but about personal taste..."better" is too subjective.
if JP and OP were getting paid by the note in that last video....they both could have retired as gazillionaires!
