I am a software developer and I am writing a music composition application for my own use only, (not commercial quality) and I would like to hear something better than my built in computer MIDI output with Windows 10.
Are there any software sound modules that work well with this, and appear as if it was a MIDI port(s) to my software?
My interest is in the full spectrum of common musical sounds and instruments as well as drums.
Something under 1000 dollars would be preferable and perhaps the drums might be separate.
It will take me a few years to write this in my spare time, and I think having a better sound would help to keep me motivated and also on track.
