did I say jazz? fluff is a more appropriate word.. now.. is this the time one of your associates steps in to tell me how great you are with your "jazz" stylings/ramblings? or is this where he tells me how crappy I am compared to you? which will it be this time?.. guess I'll wait and see..

(ex. 1:23-2:45) use that as your SCIENTIFIC evidence as to your accusations, just don't say falsehoods just for the sake of being false as you so many times are.. :D

Dayne, I never impugned your character.

Everyone has had a guitar go out of tune before so I don't understand what you are railing about? It doesn't have to be personal to notice that a string or two are not in tune.

You just named FOUR people who tried to be honest with you about the tuning of a guitar on one song. I don't remember any of us belittling you personally about it, though I do remember being bewildered that you couldn't tell it was out of tune and dug in instead of accepting what was obvious. Looks like you still are.

What song was that again? I'll be specific if you'd like.

Dayne Nobody IV wrote:yeah, DP I bet you are always in tune , but I have often heard every time you move a piano the jostling causes it to be re-tuned every time it's moved..LOL..

LOL, LOL... Guess you haven't heard: they have these newfangled thingys called "digital pianos." Since they rely on computerized, digital circuitry, they can be moved--over and over--without falling out of tune. LOL, LOL...
Dayne Nobody IV wrote:oh, and will you need a chart if you decide to collaborate with me on "Procaine" LOL  I can hear you putting in those syncopated missing E9 chord stabs on "Procaine" generally done with an overdubbed guitar, but your good tone on keys would make it really shine as far as an improvised piece..or so I believe..LOL :D

LOL, LOL... Yes, in your case, I'd need a chart, so I can figure out what you were trying to play. Saves me the time & trouble of running it through Audacity, putting it back into A-440 and then picking it out by ear. I'm old, and since time is now a more finite resource, I try not to waste it. Not that I've decided to collaborate w/ you; last time I tried that, it was more of a PITA than it was worth. I tend not to repeat my mistakes... LOL, LOL...

Hey, P-Guy: doing a piano bar tonite. Three hours for $50, piano on site (no heavy lifting--and it's in tune!), plenty of food & drink. It's only appetizers, but the bar plate is a good meal for me. And I'll be home in time for the 11:00 news. Did I mention no heavy lifting?

well good for you Displaced Piano, and I was correct one of his associates would sho' nuff' chime in...LOL LOL..ha ha :D dude, I knew you were testing me months ago, and you had no genuine desire to collab with me, you were just seeing if I woud invest time for nothing, I did get an inkling you enjoed the tune howeverm enough so, as to ask me for a chart..LOL..now you have turned the table? what's wrong? was I harsh on your "buddy" PG?...why would I need to provide you a chart,? were you not supposed to create something based on a chord sequence that I could have orally called out to you? would that not have been enough for you to create something in key? hey how did that collab go with jooks? I saeem to recall he was sending you some music to work on with him, I think the email had troubles getting sent to the right physical location as in you are planetguy? or at least the guy planetguy visited on his trip to Florida a couple years ago..

would you play a gig for food & beer?..

It depends on just how great the food and beer are. Are we talking Wagyu tenderloin or Kobe beef and Allsopp’s Arctic Ale ?

this whole thread took a wrong course some time back.. I apologize to all I might have offended, but I did not mention anybody by name or even had any intention to belittle anybody with this topic, I think we had discussed this a few months ago, but I don't recall anybody stating a thread about it? I especially feel apologetic towards Displaced Piano, because for a long time I was hoping we might meet some day in person, and maybe enjoy at least trying to come up with something musically, I have no idea but sorry for saying you are musically illiterate, that is not the case, Displaced Piano has some great music on his BM player. and I am sincere about that, and actually still enjoy his music and posts.. I am sorry Displace Piano, please forgive me,

yes dane....you can congratulate yourself for some fine sleuthing! the jig is up. :(

you've singlehandedly solved the mystery of why my "associates" are generous w their compliments towards me. DP, Vinny, Jooks, Mike B, Talbot, Schmed......we're ALL the same person!!!! DOH!

you ought to look to your friend's demeanor and learn from it, one of the most gracious and good people here on the board.. it would not hurt you to humble yourself somewhat, instead of thinking you are god's gift to the music world?.. it has already been stated you can get a "high and mighty" attitude without much to back that attitude up on.. all you have to do is go lookat the past "cartoon thread" you posted on non-music chat side..LOL

give it a rest already.

who says i think i'm god's gift to music???? you? get a grip on reality.....i've never said anything to indicate i believe such silliness. and no one who knows me or has played music w me would ever believe such BS.

i see why you like to bring up Trump, as you've taken a page from his playbook. keep repeating some non truth enough and someone is likely to believe it true.

trust me, i'm quite aware of my shortcomings as a musician and i'm humble about my skills. i NEVER brag about people coming up to me to tell me how "creative" i am...that's YOU who does that.

you've groused again and again about Jook, Schmed, DP, Vinny Mike B, and others sharing complimentary remarks about each other's work, while you've felt slighted for not getting the same...just how small and insecure are you?

No need to answer...you've shown yet again in this thread how small, petty, and insecure you are.

See, it's not a contest who can play faster or who can bend a note more. And it's NOT a popularity contest....but it sure appears you view it that way.

George

I agree on a lot of your points. I've been in several "showcase" bands which started out playing to be heard and moved up to getting paid to play.

It easy. And it seems like it has actually gotten harder.

Why does everyone overlook the fact that when MADD got stringent laws passed for "drunk" drivers, the cops would wait across the street from many establishments (At least in this area) at closing time to stop people who were leaving? The scare became so bad that many night club goers stayed at home. Business dramatically dropped off so a lot of clubs had to go to either crappy bands who would play cheap or DJ's for entertainment. Even if you do not feel it a low alcohol standard could cost you thousands of dollars.

The non thinkers are always blaming club owners who have high overheads and small crowds. How many drinks do you need to sell just to cover the price of just one musician in a band? That is the way club owners think. How many drinks will customers consume in a club when the prices are outrageous just to keep the doors open? They should just take the loss and pay bands more money is the way those with no skin in the game think.
Play for food? Depends on what the food is and how hungry I am.

The money isn't in clubs these days for unknown bands. Even big name bands end up playing in Indian Casinos if they are lucky, others simply fade into oblivion. Seen any big bands lately? Goodman, Heath, Dorsey, Miller? Where did they go when rock and pop hit the charts?
Not too many people want to go watch dinosaurs play in a band.

If you've ever done youth ministry, you get a cold pepperoni pizza in lieu of "blessing" (as defined by the church). Too bad if you eat kosher.

When I want "exposure" I go stand in the sun. I enjoy the interaction of playing with others so I go find open mics, blues jams, etc on my days off wherever I am. Have to pay for my own food and drink there but at least I don't feel taken advantage of and can leave when the music gets bad.
