Just wanting to see what others in Country are covering...songs that go over well and songs to stay away from .

So what's on your list?

Well obviously there are an abundance of country music fans on this forum. :) :)

I dislike all this new "Crest White Strips country music" They should never have allowed to to be called "country Music". I do like genuine country music.... sorta. Do I have any favorites? None that I can think of since it was so long ago that country music was played over the airwaves.

Country music is dead..... except in the Indian Casinos and other small venues. :)

I played with Billy Carrol Whiteman for a while. He did the real stuff, George Jones, Waylon et al. "Honkey tonk Angels" was always a hit with the crowds.

The gigs really sucked but I didn't mind the songs and still prefer them to that dreck called 'modern country.'

I had a beer with Waylon Jennings at Richard's in Atlanta (you may remember the place George). I didn't realize it was him really, until the best looking woman I'd ever seen came out and said, "Waylon, it's time..."

He clapped me on the shoulder and went to work. "This time" was always a favorite.

Note - I'm actually working out a cover with a friend of mine but it's just a thing, not my everything. In the church band it's all covers but I've never heard any of them so I just enjoy enjoy the band and give them a lot more bass than they were expecting!
