I have suspicions that there are fake profiles on this site created to bait peaople in buying in to the premiere membership. I have contacted multiple musicians and never even hear a reply. I Will NOT be renewing next month and are truley disappointed. :x :x

No, I doubt if BM would go to that bother. The fact is that generally musicians are lazy, impolite and inconsiderate. There are exceptions, of course.
If you send an email to a profile that hasn't been looked at in months (or longer), the person may have found what they are looking for already. Or they might have set their profiles for no email notices, and not even see your message.
Or they looked at your profile, found there are no examples of your abilities - no music, no videos, no real details.

some of us here have successfully put together situations. Including me. But it's a roll of the dice...and it can be a pain in the neck.

Too funny...
Many years ago we had a computer intelligent person show the first original profiles on bandmix. No music just many, many fake profiles.
Remember if you wear your PF FLYERS... You will be able to run faster and jump higher than anyone else. If you drink TANG energy drink you will be an astronaut. If the Soviet Union launches a nuclear attack... Going into a hallway and bending over will save your asss. Sarcasm, better than just having to eliminate them.

I just thought your post was amusing, BRY...

Bandmix is a tool, use it like any other tool - for the right place, situation. Use every other tool that's appropriate - Craigslist, Facebook musician groups, getting out to venues to see bands, network with others at open mics and jams.
It's incredibly difficult to find like-minded players.
I got invited into 2 bands via Bandmix, others here have found success this way, too.

I've picked up one musician from BM. They were fully down with the material. They are not perfect but since they are so on-board, I strive to help them get what they need. Most people don't respond at all. Some people respond but but don't seem to understand what I need. (e.g. drummer telling me that the drum tracks were bland...yeah, I said I needed a real drummer for better drums) A few people respond but are kinda rude about it like it is an affront to ask about a style that isn't exactly what they want. Honestly, if they came at me like, hey can we have some of this or that, I'd discuss. A small amount of people say they want in and just never show up. A very few people actually show up but mostly want to use our existing band as a vehicle for their grand designs like they are auditioning us instead of the other way around. I say, fit the spot before we talk about direction. And, I gotta say, wth with these people that can't be bothered to listen to the material before coming in for audition. A tiny amount of people respectfully respond that they are not a good fit. These are the people I network with, as in offering to pass them to any project I encounter that fits the direction they are looking for. That about sums up my experience. So yeah, seems like BM is legit but musicians generally suck.

You summed it up pretty good brother. Musicians in mass, are a sad lot.

I'd go even farther, Mike, and say the music business generally sucks to deal with. In my experience, nobody wants a piece of what being offered until everybody wants a piece. I figure if I can stay humble and find other people that want to put the team first, I'll be okay. The key is to put your feelers out there enough to actually catch the right ppl. You can't get discouraged because of the way it just is with so many musicians. I've pages of sent messages. Catch them in the first week before they find all the sucky ppl on here and give up, lol.
