If this isn't allowed I apologize*

all recording engineers / musicians

Just have a few questions in regards to proper gain staging on a 6 piece mic setup on my kit what are some methods you use for more of a clean mix? Thanks in advance have a great day PHX!

Here's an example of a "finished" track

Recording drums by themselves, any levels should work. Recording with a metal band and no isolation of their speaker cabs or your kit? Who boy! That's tricky.

Welcome. I'm in PHX too.

generally when recording digitally, you want to be in the -18 to -12dBfs (full scale) range.
