Planetguy opens with a bass run, which I believe to be Bb-C- Eb- F-Eb-G- Eb-C .. anybody think it would be cool to have the next instrumentalist play unison notes on keyboards/horns/ guitar? or play 4ths or 5ths on top of the bass line? maybe play unison for first 3 measures ?

make that 6 measures and not 3 measures beginning with 1st bass note played, ( not beginning of tune, believe RG is playing drums intro for 1 measues + 1/4 note of 2nd measure; then bass kicks in)
me and the planetguy plaing in unison for the intro.. cool beans

Planetguy wrote:...and i played a little melody up front when the bass enters. It seemed a good idea at the time but now i'm not so sure!
Whoever wants to come up w a head (melody) for this, you can either double up the bass melody, or after it completes it's once around and starts walking, you can then play your head there.
the head that i'm playing up front is this broken down into the two note phrases as i play it:
Bb C
(8ve^) Bb C
F G
Eb C
the next bit when it moves to the Fm should be easy enough to figure out as should the turnaround

ok, thought maybe a new thread with the tune-project's name might help keep things more organized, easier to find anyhow?
not being brash, but just would like to know for sure who it was decided upon to be next in line making a track for this project?.. is it Dave or is it Jookeyman?.. I, myself am thinking more in line with adding a percussion/hand drum part maybe just tambourine? if it sounds nice and filled out when it comes up my turn to commit ... I will put a little icing on the cake in form of a hand drum or tambourine?.. does that sound ok?

I don't see anyone telling you it's not your turn on this. What does it matter if there are other versions of this floating around? Fill the world with music, not bluster, like you get from that Memphis Not Ready cat.

the genuine version as far as I know has a bass line by planetguy and the original percussion by RG ..maybe I'm wrong, but I think it was discussed that either Dave or Jook was next, I don't really want to play my tambourine on it as my contribution until last, I think it will fit better as a little icing.. I'm moving to Memphis so I know he is not full of bluster, he's the real deal.. he is ready as rain..

you're going to overdub tambourine on an RGMix drum track? Is this a troll thing? Just play some guitar on it. You're a very talented player. My baby found your stuff on soundcloud very soothing.

the memphis1 thing is just joking around.. but Memphis is the home of rock-n-roll, and I would not doubt ready is in the right place to succeed musically.. while I am waiting on Dave or Jook, I can still fiddle around with musical ideas for it, I might re-mix Slice & Dice.. remove a lot of the slide guitar parts.. or at least change the tone..planetguy was not pleased at all with what I did..

and my days thinking a Tascam DR-05 can take the place of a DAW are over.. if a guy could figure out the correct placement for it with those 2 mics on it, it might work, but then maybe too cheesy anyway..

Good thinking there. Those little portable digital recorders are good for making note of ideas, or for capturing a live rehearsal, but that's about it. In 'Instant Karma' we used one to record the instruments at rehearsal (live), then the lead singer took that stereo track and overdubbed vocals so we had some demo recordings to put on our band website.
