Don't know how much of current indie music you all keep up with - there' a radio station in this area ('The River) that plays a lot of new stuff. Most is pretty sub-par, IMO, but I guess its what the 20-somethings like.

Went to see one of my favorite bands on Saturday night, Carbon Leaf, down in Cambridge, and the Accidentals played the opening set. From Michigan, 3 youngsters - a girl who's just 18, and a 21-year-old girl and guy. the guy sits on a cajone that he uses as his snare - with brushes, and has a small kick with mounted tom, a floor tom, 2 cymbals on a single stand and a hi-hat. The younger girl plays an electric cello (has a shoulder hook, and a belt to hold it in place) and guitar. the older girl plays acoustic guitar, bass, fiddle and mandolin (not all at the same time!) I didn't find their original songs all that catchy, but they did great 3-part harmonies while switching up instruments almost every song. They did a cover version of Rush's "Tom Sawyer" that was very good.
