Hi Guys,

I'm looking to purchase a pretty simple polyphonic Synth as the one I had used before was borrowed....

I'm just looking for more melodic options than really intricate electronic sound tweaking. Basically I don't needs a ton of knobs, but just a good available sound bank with some beats built in.

Also this will be for use in live shows.

Any recommendations based on my poorly worded question?? Im really strapped for cash so the less expensive the better ....

Thank you!
Sang

If you have a laptop get a USB keyboard controller.

For example
This one comes with the free software

Check your local music stores for used keyboards.

Guitar Center will ship used gear store to store. Gives you a national database to choose from. Ask about shipping. Ask about warranty on electronic parts. Also, go on websites like GC and Musician's Friend and read reviews on everything beforehand. Good luck!

With GC, if you have used gear ship store-to-store you pay no shipping charges! And they offer an extended warranty (past the usual 30 days) too. The EW is through an outside company. If anything goes wrong with the gear while under the EW, you call the 800 #, tell them and they give you an authorization number to bring it in to be fixed. If the gear sold for $200 or less, they just refund your entire purchase money PLUS the EW fee. Note - if you do this too many times, they'll *blackball* you, and won't honor the EW.

Thanks. I bought a ride cymbal and they shipped it up from Tucson. No electrical components have malfunctioned...so far. Fingers crossed!
