Requesting Space Opera music

Hello I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure exactly if requests are fine, but I didn't see anything for Space Opera in a search and I would really like to have more of this type of music to listen to!

Here are the Space Opera bands that I know of:

Metal: Glorrhammer - Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards

Rap/ Funk/ Hip Hop: Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030; Event 2

Hyper Jpop - Momoiro Clover Z - (song) Mōretsu Uchū Kōkyōkyoku Dai Nana Gakushō (I can post the end of the Youtube link to it if requested, as finding a good link is quite annoying otherwise.)

Anyways, I would very much like to have more Space Opera music to listen to. I really love this setting for music! Thanks for any recommendations!

pretty sure i had hipped you to that track before...maybe not. it's one of three tunes....rough preliminary mixes from our upcoming PLANET JAZZ album "Squirrel Curfew" that i posted on the Planet Jazz Soundcloud page.

(like most of the other trks we recorded) they were all recorded "live in the room" w a cpl of clarinet overdubs on the "Oasis" tune

"Larry Talbot Blues" is one i think i might redo my gtr part on. i'm not real happy w it.

Here's the album version of "Squirrel Curfew" w both clarinet tracks. We intended to pick one trk or comp the two of them together, but the counterpoint of the two clarinet trks is growing me!

You're welcome to mess around w a gtr part. Though, as you alluded to... i'm not sure where you've got enough room to insert something that moves the flags.

I just sent you the tune cos I've got a gig tonight w MERE MORTALS. it's our last one with our bass playerBill (PJAZZ bassist). He's got a pretty busy schedule these days and needs some time to get his life more sensible.

We're bummed about losing him but in the interim it'll give me a situation to get my upright out of the house! Bad news is it also means that i don't get to play mando, dobro, and lap steel. :(

Hey, why don't you relocate to Bumfuck MO and play bass for us???!!!!

glad you dig the tune, jook!

i might have a rough demo around here somewhere that maybe has a little more operating room for you to navigate.

BTW....that's clarinets you're hearing and the mallet sounds are from my malletKAT w a "marimba like" patch that's touch sensitive to dynamic levels. hit the pads softly you're in the actual octave you're playing.....whack 'em a little harder and it jumps down an octave. it's a little tricky to navigate but it yields some happy accidents!

plan B...when i have a little time i can record another version that'll give you some room to add a part or three w me just playing mallets, or maybe mallets and some light percussion.

I've only heard of 'Space Opera' as a science fiction sub-genre.

I suppose that in Nashville it's referred to as "Space Opry".
