I HAVE ABOUT 350 SONGS, AND ALMOST ALL OF THEM ARE SELLABLE. WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE TRUE STORY SONGS THAT ANYONE, YOUNG OR OLD CAN RELATE TO. I WRITE ABOUT EVERYDAY THINGS. I WRITE ABOUT PEOPLE. I WRITE FANTASTIC LOVE SONGS. I WRITE ABOUT ANYTHING, AND I TRY AND MAKE THE TRUE STORY FUNNY, AND VERY RELATABLE. LIKE GOING TO THE STORE WITH $10, AND THE BILL IS $10.75. OR GOING TO BUY JEANS, BUT EVERY PAIR HAS "LOOSE SEAMS" IN THE INSEAM. MY PROBLEM IS I AM VERY SICK, DISABLED, AND LOSING MY VISION. I NEED SOMEONE LOCAL TO PLAY MY SONGS FOR ME, AND MAKE THE BIG BUCKS, WHILE I STAY ON DISABILITY AND COLLECT ROYALTIES TO SUPPLEMENT MY INCOME. I JUST WANT TO GET MY SONGS OUT THERE BEFORE THEY GET WASTED AND GO TO THE GRAVE WITH ME. MY WEBSITE www.stormin-norman.com HAS A DIRECT LINK TO 175 YOUTUBE VIDEOS. CLICK ON VIDEOS, BUT SCROLL DOWN AND FIND 10 TITLES THAT INTRIGUE YOU. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL FIND AT LEAST 2 SONGS YOU WILL WANT TO FIX UP AND PERFORM, AS I AM A DRUMMER PLAYING A CASIO ONLY. Norman,

Writing songs is the easy part. Performing recording and mastering them also relatively easy, although time consuming. Getting out there and finding someone who gives a crap is all but impossible. But good luck. :)

Getting other people to play your songs is no humor intended, an art form. Nashville or LA or NYC come to mind simply because smaller locations are less apt to have artists looking for material.

The other problem of course, is that most folks who play originals write their own. See the guys on this forum and I doubt you'll find one that doesn't.

You pretty much need to have your own band which doesn't sound doable right now.

I had to literally face the music a couple years ago when I'd written a musical about the Z-apocalypse. Wasn't bad but how to sell it? I ended up translating it into a series of novels - the third will be out (I hope) by the end of the year. If I get lucky with the books, I'll build on that and reactivate the musical .

Maybe there is some way to translate your output (350 songs is a lot of output) into some other format? You write a lot of love songs - I'll tell you for free that the writer's market write now is a whopping 80% romance!

Good luck brother
Talbot
