Maybe some 90w mixed w/ Tabasco.
Ten hours, 41 minutes away. Yikes!!
i don't know, jook... do you have any wacky arrangement ideas for "Girl From Ip"?????
"90w" ????
Sure. Get away from a 'straight' bossa nova and play it over a loose 3>2 clave, NOLA marching band style. Slur the melody line like it's falling off a cliff. Want me to record it for ya?? I can deconstruct almost anything.
Supposed to be raining tomorrow. I'll record it and post it for my audition.
90w = gear lube = greasy
yeah, right gear lube. that stuff is more than TWICE as good as WD40
jook, i'm well known in these parts for my deconstruction of tunes. (though "demolition" might be more accurate).
my first go to move is almost always reggae-fying things. a close second is putting a Nawlins second line feel to tunes. then there's always time misalignment.....playing 4/4 tunes in 6/8 and vice versa.
there's a few "straight" tunes that PJAZZ has given the NO treatment to w varying results...."Moonlight In VT", "Out Of Nowhere", Tranes "Equinox" and one that i think works really well w that feel ...."Blue Monk"
"Blue Monk" in our other trio lineup of sax/drums/bass:
https://soundcloud.com/planetguy-1/blue-cajun-monk-planet-jazzyou definitely should record that NO version of "...Ipanema" and perhaps retitle it "Girl With Etouffe Sauce"....i'd love to hear it!
