cool beans. thanks for the gear lay of the land. us gear heads love that!

do you still have that EBO?

i'm not a huge fan of shortie's but i do have big love for my old GUILD Starfire II and i had an mid '60's Epi Newport that was fun to play but had intonation issues.

another shortie i remember fondly, my first fretless was a '69 FENDER Mustang that i pulled the frets out of. Now that..THAT was a fun little ride. Definitely one that's on the 'wish i still had it' list!

Jookeyman wrote:BTW- it wasn't a shorty!! Actually an EB-0L. Standard length neck w/ the walnut finish. I swapped a Mexican J bass for it. Ended up swapping it for good $$$ so I took it.

yeah, an EB-0L! yeah, back in the day, in my neck of the woods those rare as the proverbial hen's teeth. the only long scale EB's we ever saw were the ubiquitous EB-3L. usually w the walnut finish....and that hideous open headstock!

did your's have the open headstock? was that a PITA or a positive deal? i've never messed w an open (classical gtr) style headstock. i do know i'm not a fan of 'em on nylon string or gypsy style gtrs.
