Slacker, (or anybody that is currently conversing with me LOL) is there something on the market other than fingerpicks that can act as basically a fingernail? that I can glue onto what's left of my fingernail on my right hand ring finger? there is just a flappy nubbin' left and my fingernails are thin anyhow ..how do you get a nice thick fingernail in the first place that is nice and stout and not so brittle as to break like glass? must be some special dietary supplement or somethin.. our last email we were discussing fingernails, or at least you were ..TIA Slacker, (or anybody else that does not have me pegged as an asshole and giving me the silent treatment) LMAO :)

turned wrenches long enough, and operated pneumatic wrenches long enough to do nerve damage that causes partial numbness to middle finger and index finger. on right hand so I hold a flat pick with index finger and thumb and pick with that and ring finger ..don't use the ringg finger much but enough to have worn it off as photo points out.. I think Jerry Reed used that same setup.. for some reason I have better coordination too with using a pick between the index finger and thumb and ring finger combo, as opposed to pick between the thumb and index finger and middle finger.. but overall partial numbness forced me to try something new picking wise and found out it is better for me than before.. on gut string I can still pick using no pick just fingers since the tension is easier on the fingers.. :)

i've never been a fingerpick guy and prefer to play dobro w bare fingers. but sometimes when playing straightup acoustic w/o using it's pickup or a mic, i'll have to so i can compete w the volume of a loud banjo and/or fiddle.

i've tried just about all of them. these are pretty good because they allow you the "skin on string contact" that i miss when wearing traditional style f-picks.

i have no idea what chicken picking would be like w them.
