here's today's video....this one by Bill Roe(bassman).

Bill had just brought this tune in and this was the 2nd time we had actually played it. ( first time was the night before on a gig when he showed it to us)

On the one hand it's easy enough as it's only 4 chords Am F G E7 (rinse, repeat) ....and even though Am is THE KEY for mandolin, i find myself running out of ideas and boring myself to tears pretty quickly on this tune!

My Mrs really digs it though....and obviously she's always right. about everything!

Listened to this, and while it's good, it could benefit from a turnaround; it would create more movement and would also give you a chance to regroup for the next move on the mandolin. For example, look at what y'all did on Coconut--just a few bars to bring it back around and return to the main movement. Does that make sense?

Hey, wouldn't 'Weight Limit 16 Tons' be a good title for a tune?

good call. Bill has since added a little turnaround move..... CM7 / G7/ Dm7/ Am7. it's something to break things up but it really doesn't get my ankles hard.

yeah....i had been thinking along similar lines w "Weight Limit 16 tons" being a good band name.
