I just joined recently and have been exploring this site to see what it offers its users, one of the things I noticed is that not many people post or reply on these forums. There are over 14000 users, do they read this stuff? Or do they just browse musicians by state or instrument and avoid the forum altogether? It seems like more people will get an idea of what kind of musician you are if they can get a piece of your "voice"; whether that be an audio file or a few comments on the forums. Maybe people are scared of forum hostility? Nothing to say?
Just wondering.
Also, wouldn't it be nice if there was a CD that tracked the small changes that music makes traveling across the globe? Moving up from africa and wandering into the middle east then exploring europe for a while before moving on to asia... So that one could see the both similarities between places in the same region that grow into minute differences, then huge diviations, the father in one direction one travels? Anyone have a CD like that?

Welcome Unicyclegirl,

Yeah you get responses here, but its also hit and miss. Sometimes the actively slows to a trickle, then picks up.

I have to say with your preferred instrumentation, I wish like hell that you were closer. I have been trying to put an ethnic world music band together for some time, that would truly benefit by your tastes. Around here it's 98% butt rockers or punk rehashers. Bleh.

grew up with the stuff; love it! I really think the butt rockers and punk rehashers could do with a little variety. I've been frustrated in the past (@ college) by the lack of interest for forming bands that want to play world music. I settle for jazz and experimental, or "experi-metal" as is popular nowdays.
Maybe it's the college.

I enjoy your song (and posts), by the way.
