This is an amazing opportunity to have your music/talent professionally recorded and distributed by industry professionals.
Students meet weekly to learn about the music industry. Each week students travel to SDSU, recording studios, record labels, musicians unions, venues, and other industry locations to meet and hear from various professionals and begin recording their music. There will also be 2 field trips to Hollywood, CA to visit recording studios, meet with industry professionals, and attend behind-the-scenes concerts.
About the Producer Jay Henry:
This three time Grammy nominated recording engineer/producer and audio educator has worked for more than 40 years with major recording artists and labels. With more that 80 gold and platinum albums and awards his work includes albums for Universal, MCA, Warner Bros., Columbia, CBS, Epic and Arista. Has worked on projects with Prince, Living Colour, LL Cool J, Heavy-D, Teddy Riley, Shannon, Bell Biv Devoe, and Public Enemy.
Has produced work product that consistently appeared in the top of the record charts (Top Pop 100, Hot Singles, Black Albums and Singles) of Billboard Magazine. Credits include more than 80 Gold and Platinum records.
He is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and a founding member of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
