Well I'm glad you got it figured out! It's easy to forget about the virtual mixer - my Tascam has one, too, and I just usually leave it a 'standard setting', because i'm used to turning up the headphones volume (overall) rather than turning up the computer track playback.

D'oh! I do stuff like this daily. Spent most of my week at work redoing the previous week's work after failing an inspection.
Forgot my USB interface last weekend for rehearsal. Recorded the session with the laptop mic. OK for a rough draft, but basically unusable. Dang!

I listened to it. I'm not sure about it. Sounded pretty busy. Will listen again.
