ok, jook and the schmediforius one were asking me to post some more PENTAZZ tunes from that gig back in '85.

these are the two other original instrumentals we played on that gig. they're not quite as "balls to the wall" fusion as the other two but they do have some killer gtr solos.

"disco drumming" ...to which tune of the two are you referring?

well, i had to ask because i don't hear "disco drumming" at all! i mean, he would have gotten fired before he got halfway thru a disco song for that work! as for the hi-hat...i don't hear any of the typical disco pea soup, pea soup, pea soup, pea soup, and those fills he played...THAT would have not only gotten him fired, but a swift kick squarely in his ass!!!

keep in mind too.....he's trying to play "on top of the kit" (ride and hi-hat) to let the congas speak. and i love when he opens up from the hi-hat to the ride on the gtr solos. (both tunes)

i found some of the older recordings when we still had our sax man. we'll have to see if that floats yer boat a little better! i'll try and get some of them up soon.

i should have gotten your abbreviations in the fusion context.... WR = Weather Report, MO = Mahavishnu Orchestra!
