hi! i'm a jazz pianist from vancouver, bc, canada. i'll be coming to bakersfield to play at my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary on august 31st. my husband and i have been playing jazz together for 18 years (he's a bass player).

he has two basses at home, a 100 year old german hand carved solid wood, and a pre wwII plywood back hybrid. nice basses, but we won't be taking them with us when we come in august. so, if you know of a bass we could rent for the reception, we would take great care of it! please let me know, my father-in-law is trying really hard to find a bass for us, but so far has had no luck.

Have you tried checking with your local music stores, most larger stores allow rentals on almost any item they carry instore. I know in my area they have a selection of no less then 5 acoustic basses for sale/rent.

I feel that may be your best bet..
