How many instruments do you play:

1. expertly

2. well enough to perform live

3. tinker enough to say you can play it, but wouldn't perform live

play 4 basic instruments well enough to (fake it) live: voice, acoustic & electric guitar, bass, and blues harp

Tinker on piano for writing but couldn't keep up with anyone

I play rhythm guitar and bass well enough to play onstage.* **
*I think
**garage rock
Keys and drums well enough to mess around.* **
*depends on the level of the other players involved
**experimental garage rock

Some restrictions may apply.

I know how you were raised on Hank Williams and you like Yiddish music so this is right up your alley, cat.

BTW-while you're there? You can see all the instruments I play.

Since you are familiar w/ ME music, you know this stuff is NOT easy to play.
1.) most of it is pentatonic, so you only have 5 tones to play
2.) most of it is in the Phrygian mode, so you're stuck w/ one scale
3.) put #1 & #2 together and you are very limited as to what you CAN play
4.) this means you have to be VERY imaginative w/ phrasing and subtle melody changes

A lot of people discount ME music as simple, monotonous crap but nothing can further from the truth. My old partner in grime is playing the guitar on the left. We were playing some Gypsy jazz at the time so he was in this 'wound up' state of mind. I play the guitar on the right. I was trying my hardest to 'rein it in' and keep it simple and closer to the real thing.
I know it isn't 'authentic' but it isn't meant to be. Just a nutty semblance to the real McCoy.

Great song, great performance!

But I'd say it was closer to flamenco than mizrachi. Still, very good.

Played drums in clubs all one summer at 16 - it sucked. Like the guy in Monty Python who was turned into a newt. I got better.

It would take work to stick out sets of Rush, or anything technical so I'll say moderate even though I've made money at it. I've had "real" drummers for decades now, so drums is a [funk, high-hat rise aficionado], tinkerer.

Lead vocals - advanced
Backing vocals - advanced
Acoustic or electric rhythm - advanced
Bass - advanced
(any of these- for $$$)

Drums - mediocre
Keyboard - definite tinker

So 4 and voice (counting all guitars as 1)

:D

Sorry, I left out the main one.( I know, like it matters ). My niche is lead guitar. Finally decided to conquer sweep picking arpeggios almost a month ago. Hopefully, I'll whip them out for less than 1 min intervals to all my friends. Greater than one minute for those I want to torture.

Sometimes I'm pretty expert on bass and guitar but not usually. Have used both for gigs and recording for many years.

Play some keys but not enough to brag on.

Sing a little when I must.
