It's a branch of CDBaby. Kind of like ReverbNations gig-finder thing.

Nothing comes out of Duluth since Dylan left?

Yes. It seems to work pretty well in LA.

Lots of Boston area listings. I signed up for the free version last night when I got an email from them. Another service like RN, BM, etc - they offer a little for free, then want you to subscribe for "more".

way cool! Finally got to see your band.

I used to have an old P bass like that, black with a red pick guard. Can't say I've ever seen another one like it until now.

Do you find a lot of work with gig salad? Do you get what you're asking? or include room to negotiate down?

I always thought that RN made people look like desperate local bands by branding everything with their logo. Really hate that, but it doesn't look like Gigsalad uses people for their own marketing/branding.

I'm also the guy who won't wear clothes with brand names written on them (hilfiger, abercrombie, etc) until they pay me to advertise for them.

It is the only promo site that clearly has a good return on investment for us. They do a few smart things. Whenever you do a google search in your area for entertainment, gig salad comes up near the top of the page and paid members "featured" come up at the top of the gig salad search page. We average 3 leads a month and some are tire kickers, but 1/mo is a quality lead with a good budget and we usually get that gig. We only take gigs that pay our fee which averages $600 for 3 hours of music. $25/mo fees resulting in $600/mo average income seems like a worthy marketing expense. It is one of several ways we generate gigs but does seem to attract quality clients. It may not work as well everywhere but in greater LA, gig salad seems to be effective.

Not sure what you mean by 'branding' with Reverbnation. yeah, every page has the name on it, no different than anyone else.

not so new....and yeah, I'd guess more than a few people know about it as i've gotten a several leads from it. ( i do the freebie Gig Salad Lite version)

a cpl of yrs ago i was playing some gigs w a progressive banjo player here in MO (think bela fleck stuff, newgrass, and cajun)...he's a premium member and sees a lot of leads from it.
