Hello,
I'm in need of a piece of equipment, but don know what it's called, or if it even exists. Please help.
I want to record a live album, but a few guys in the band kinda over do it at times. Is there a piece of equipment that will allow me to delete and re-record certain instruments that I'm not happy with?

Any multi track recorder will do the job as long as you have each instrument on its own track.

Once you have a band that works it's never wise to just split because you can't agree on something.

A sound man is the answer and record every gig, it doesn't take long to hear where it's not balanced correctly.

I always want the vocals to be in front. Since I've played in a lot of three piece configurations I tend to punch the bass out front which can be annoying in other band settings. The recorder always tells the truth though and I'm a reasonable guy.

The band also needs to have an agreement written in the blood of virgin Samoan girls, that they will figure out how they want to sound and all work towards that. What I miss most about sixties bands is how you recognized them in two measures or less because they all had their own sound.
