It seems as though a musical generation is coming to an end. With great sadness we have learned that Glenn Frey, Eagles founding member, has passed away at the age of 67.

As a member of Eagles, Frey won six awards from The GRAMMYs, and five American Music Awards The Eagles have sold over 120 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum in 1998, the first year they were nominated. As a solo artist and with Eagles combined, Frey released 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

Remember Glenn Frey and watch History of the Eagles streaming now on Qello Concerts. This is the story of an American band told for the very first time about the music, from the people who made the music: http://www.qello.com/vip/eagles-glenn-frey

Frey (along with Don Henley) was the boss of the Eagles - in fact all the rest of the players - Felder, Walsh, Meisner, Schmitt - were salaried, rather than taking a % of income. He's also one of the reasons why the Eagles were the first band to have ticket prices over $100.

Other losses yesterday - Dale Griffin, drummer for Mott the Hoople, and Mic Gillette, horn player for Tower of Power.

They're all getting old, as we all are. Ever have a grandparent that used to check the obits in the daily newspaper every day? That's us, but we use the internet instead of the paper.
