I did that to create the illusion that we were sitting in a room together playing this live!!

Mark

May I assume you're holding out on your favorite colour to save that exciting tidbit for a teenybopper reporterette gushing and throwing you softball interview questions? 8)

ok jook.....before getting my bluegrass gear packed and loaded for tonight's MERE MORTALS gig i wasted a cpl of hrs that i'll never get back messing around with the tune. (btw...we WON'T be playing a bluegrass version of this tonight)

and you thought it was "outside" before!!! pshaw!

i overdubbed a marimba part (no schmed...it's a marimba...NOT a XYLOPHONE!).sorry but i had to go w my fretless bass take for two reasons.

1. the 1/4 note walk on mine left a little more space for the marimba (but it's still too damn busy!)

2. the EQ and 'verb on your's presented similar problems. ( i do really dig what you did w the bass on your's and it is interesting to see how we approached the same thing differently)

i decided to use a different title for this version since it is rather different though built on the same bed of Billy's drum trk and my orig gtr trk.

and here's a different take on Billy's drum trk that he passed along for us to abuse.

same drum trk but different chord progression.....different bass line and notes from marimba too! same amount of slop though (from me...NOT billy!)

Dude. Are you listening to this in your basement? I put the lightest reverb setting in my software on this. We definitely have a different set of ears!! I don't hear much reverb @ all.
MOF I think your guitar still sounds a bit 'dry' in the mix. Whatever.

i guess it's just a case of one man's ceiling being another's fishcakes. the 'verb on drums, bass...and yeah...even the gtr sounds cavernous to my tastes.

anyone else have an opinion? glenny? vamp? haley?
